Five years ago I found myself looking for a new hobby that allowed me to be creative and didn't require a great deal of financial outlay. I was introduced to pyrography, also known as wood burning, by a friend, and I fell in love with the freedom of expression it offered. All you need to get started is a pen-like tool that creates etching in wood and a few scraps of wood to practice on. Once you're confident using the etching tool, you can inscribe wooden plaques, personalise wooden toys or make your own wooden decorations or ornaments. I've turned my hobby into a small business, and I started this blog to share my tips for using pyrography tools and creating designs that transfer well to wood with those who are interested in wood burning as a hobby. I hope you find my blog useful.
